Install

  1. Open the disk imageDrag Pocket Pointer into your Applications folder, then eject the image.
  2. Launch Pocket PointerIt lives in the menu bar — there is no window, just an icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Grant AccessibilityApprove the prompt. This is what lets Pocket Pointer move your pointer and type for you.
  4. Pair your iPhoneChoose Allow Pairing from the menu bar item, then pick this Mac in Pocket Pointer on iPhone and type the six-digit code it shows. Pairing stays open until you pair or stop it.

What macOS asks on first launch

Pocket Pointer is signed by Arnav Roy (Apple Team ID 2ZUNR3N798) and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. macOS confirms once that you meant to open an app you downloaded — choose Open. After that it asks for Accessibility, and nothing else. You can revisit that under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

What it does on your Mac
Runs as
A menu-bar item only — no Dock icon, no window. Its menu handles permissions, trusted devices, disconnect, and quit.
Network
Your local Wi-Fi, or a direct link between the two devices. Nothing leaves the network and there is no server or account.
Security
Pairing uses a six-digit code you confirm on the iPhone. Sessions are encrypted with AES-128-GCM, keyed by a credential stored in each device's Keychain.
Permissions
Accessibility, to move the pointer and type. Nothing else.
Login
Opens at login, so your Mac is ready when your phone is.
